Ideas About LLM's

You know - there's something satisfying about putting together something that works. Sure, it's a modest start—a tiny, not-so-brainy creation—but it's a start. Now, I'm thinking about the next evolution: a bot that ingests all the server's messages over a 24-hour span and then dishes out a summary along with the day's stats. I think also putting it on a cloud server to host also presents some new learning challenges I'll have to overcome.

In this entry, I want to steer away from the coding bits for a second and think over some potential ways to put ChatGPT into more things. This whole journey is about me wrestling with code, piecing together my very own Swiss Army knife of skills for the tech realm, but it's always good to take a step back and look at the vision or the broader concept.

Just so you know, I'm currently navigating through a master's program at Purdue Global, currently working through the course "Research and Writing for the IT Professional." We were tasked to brainstorm a few research topics within the IT sphere, and I went for LLMs (Large Language Models) and their novel and unique uses. Here are some ideas that I came up with:

  • The Effects of Global Climate Change on the Performance of Large Language Models (LLMs):

    • How does global climate change impact the operational efficiency and sustainability of Large Language Models (LLMs), and what strategies can be employed to mitigate these impacts?
  • Utilizing LLMs to Create More Robust Unsafe Content Filters for Children:

    • What approaches can be developed using Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve the detection and filtering of unsafe content for children online, and how can these models adapt to new threats over time?
  • Implementing LLMs into Technology to Reduce Scams:

    • How can Large Language Models (LLMs) be integrated into digital communication platforms to identify and mitigate scams effectively, and what are the challenges in distinguishing fraudulent from legitimate content?
  • The Use of LLMs to Support Neurodivergent and Autistic Individuals:

    • In what ways can Large Language Models (LLMs) be tailored to assist neurodivergent and autistic individuals in improving their communication and social interaction skills, and what considerations are needed to ensure these tools are accessible and effective?
  • Accelerating Language Development in Toddlers and Children with LLMs:

    • To what extent can Large Language Models (LLMs) contribute to the acceleration of language learning capabilities in toddlers and children, and what methods ensure these technologies are used safely and effectively in early education?

From these ideas, you can see that there are many ways that ChatGPT can be implemented into more defined use cases. I'm sure there are solutions out there that already exist but these topics are more concepts that scratch a curiosity itch in me than anything else!

Perhaps we could dive into some of these topics in this blog. Anyway, we'll visit another coding project next time!
